Tasting Life Twice

Cuba, Kansas

photo1

This week I made a trip to Belleville, Kansas for the funeral of my uncle Charles.  Afterwards, we headed to nearby Cuba, Kansas, featured in a National Geographic article back in 2004.  The town is home to 231 residents, according to the 2000 census. Despite the sad occasion, it was great to see the extended family.  Here are two of my uncles (Jack and Cecil) pictured in front of the Cuba Cash Cafe (Two Doors Down) on Main Street.  Aside from the uncles no longer with us, the only thing missing was a good Cuban cigar to follow the kolaches.

Hi Travis. Was browsing the internet and came across this blog. Was good to see you and Lance, just wish it was under better circumstances. I sure miss Dad but knowing he’s with the Father makes it easier to cope.

    Your cousin,

    • Carey,

It sure was great to see you and your family, although, like you, I wish it would have been a different occasion. You have been in my thoughts and prayers in recent months and I hope our paths cross again soon. Grace and peace, TT.
